Bio
I had always been interested in photography but I was captivated by the cover of a Time Magazine of Afghani Refugee. Her eyes, were so telling.
From there on, I wanted to be a full-time photographer. So, here I am, based in Townsville, North Queensland, Australia. I purchased my first Nikon camera in 2012 and then I was hooked and I have not looked back since.
I was very fortunate to have been friends with a very creative group of models, photographers, cloth designers and singers. Everyone gave me a creative insight to their art and I must say it can be quite addictive to be surrounded with such amazing people.
My main mentor was Kristina (Awesome friend), a model from the country of Kazakhstan, who spent years teaching me about photography through the eyes of a model and my friend and mentor, the late Edward Kennedy. In addition, the amazing Jessica Cox, friend, model, actress and mentor. These three individuals heavily influenced my interest in photography.
Friends, family, and clients have asked me why do I do a lot of work for free, to which I reply, everyone has story to tell. I love to hear their stories. The old saying “A picture tells a thousand words” is so true. So, through photography, I hope to tell their stories to the world.
Eventually, through encouragement from my subjects and the Townsville Indian Community, I decided to make a hobby into a business. I may never be financially rich but I can assure you have that I become culturally rich, learning from so many people, and sharing their stories from the many communities that make up the people of Australia.
